When it comes to wildlife photography we all know there are no guarantees but the success rate of Aviemore Ospreys is second to none, with more Ospreys visiting our Lochan than anywhere else in the UK, you can be assured of getting the best chance of getting that image of a lifetime, since the hide was developed we have had a 99.2% success rate, and only 4 mornings in two years when the Ospreys have visited the Lochan but did not fish.
This hides are recommended and used by Professional and Amateur Photographers from across Europe and has been given the highest rating possible by visiting wildlife photographers
New Osprey Photographic Hide
As well as having our original hide which is set into the ground in 2016 we built a new hide that proved to be hugely popular giving some spectacular new images that sold to many Magazines and Newpapers and received thousands of views on individual websites and social media sites.
This new hide is designed to give head on shots as Ospreys leave the pond flying straight down the camera lens at eye level, and that exactly the images it has been providing, we will be making some changes to improve the hide as we do with the hides each year.
Red Squirrel hide/Otter Hide
Looking for species before or after the early morning Osprey session.
For two years we guided people to a an Otter watch at a hide at the same location, with great success we were able to get Wild Otters visit to within 2ft of the hide in the late evening almost every night, we have now developed the hide for late night Otter photography with logs, tree stumps and small stone cairns to give different images, with the Otters coming right up to the hide a small lens and tripod is all that is required.
This is a late evening session under LED light, with the changes in daylight hours during the summer which affects the Otters behaviour/ times, this hide can only be booked for by contacting us .
During the months of July/August we also guide to an area that is brilliant for Red Grouse up close, this fully guided after the Osprey sessions and normally we can add a few different species during the afternoon.
